Roller Network Help - Outlook Express 6

The following example is provided for informational purposes only. We do not provide technical support for mail clients or officially support any specific mail client.

Here's how to configure Outlook Express 6 to authenticate with our Outbound Mail Account service with SSL security. These instructions assume you've already created a mail account in Outlook Express. These examples use the domain "example.com" for information that should be replaced with whatever is applicable to your actual account.

1: Go to "Tools" and click on "Accounts":

3: Click on the "Servers" tab. Make your "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" setting "smtpauth.rollernet.us" and check the "My server requires authentication" checkbox at the bottom under "Outgoing Mail Server". Click on the "Settings..." button.

4: In the "Logon Information" settings that appears, select the "Log on using" setting. The "Account name" setting should be the same as the name listed in the "Account" column in the Outbound Mail Accounts configuration. Do not use secure password authentication. Click "OK" to go back to the previous window.

5: To enable SSL security (or use an alternate SMTP port without SSL), click on the "Advanced" tab. Check the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" checkbox, and change the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" port to "465".
